Ghostbusters Fancy Dress

One of the highest-grossing films that was released on June 8 1984, and grossed a staggering $500 million dollars just in the U.S alone, was a comedy that starred some big actors and actresses like Bill Murray, Rick Moranis, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, and Ernie Hudson. Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis wrote the screenplay and also starred in the film, and it was directed by Ivan Reitman, who wrote Stripes, so he had a good working relationship with some of the actors involved in this production!

The plot follows a trio of misfit parapsychologists, (Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler and Ray Stanz.) who lose their jobs at Columbia University and soon decide to open their own paranormal extermination business called Ghostbusters. They ran their business out of an old fire station and it seemed just when they were about to have to close shop due to lack of funds,they get a call from the upscale Sedgewick Hotel, to investigate a possible haunting. They end up actually trapping the ghost, after an interesting few moments of chaos, in a self designed containment unit,and soon become local heroes! At this point, for some reason, paranormal activity goes on the rise and soon they are very busy, prompting them to hire another member, Winston Zeddemore.

Soon the Ghostbusters get hired from a woman named Dana Barrett, who had an apartment at 55 Central Park West, and claimed her home was haunted. It turned out the apartment was inhabited by a demonic spirit known as Zuul, a demigod that was worshipped in 6000 BC and was a servant to Gozer the Gozerian,who was supposedly a Sumerian shape-shifting god!
Venkman, who finds Barrett very attractive, takes a more personal interest in the case and soon finds himself competing with the socially-inept neighbor Louis Tully, for her affections. It soon is discovered that Barret becomes actually possessed by Zuul (the Gate Keeper) and the neighbor Louis becomes the puppet of Vinz Clortho (the keymaster).

After listening to the demons speaking of the coming of the destructive god Gozer, the Ghostbusters team decide to separate the two individuals. But unfortunately after that happens, Walter Peck of the EPA comes in and arrests the team, charging them with multiple violations, and shuts down their ghost containment grid, ultimately releasing all the ghost and spirits they had contained. Soon these released spirits wreak havoc on New York City and freed from his custody, Louis/Vinze, makes his way to Dana/Zuul’s apartment!
Soon they are released, and armed with their Proton packs and a blueprint of the building they soon discover it was built by a mad doctor named Ivo Shandor, and was designed to be a magnet that would summon Gozer, and bring about the end of the world.

Once the Ghostbusters get to the top of the building they are unable to stop the transformation of Barret and Tully into demonic beasts, who summons Gozer, who being a shape shifter takes the form of a woman resembling Barret! At one point it seems the demons are subdued, until a voice states the destructor will come taking a form of the teams choosing. This meant whatever the team thought of, might bring the end of the world, and Venkman urged all members to clear their minds! Unfortunately Ray Stanz thinks of the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man( thinking what could he do!), and sure enough this is what comes to destroy the world . With risk of their own lives they combine the power of their proton packs and aim at the portal where Gozer arrived, and end up blowing the marshmallow man away!

The film ends with a kiss from Barret to Venkman and the story continues…
